ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Internet and Digital Marketing is a one or two-year (depending on the profile selected) AEC career program that prepares students to be qualified professionals in the digital/social media marketing industry. By the end of the program, students will have developed a broad range of skills in internet marketing, which they can then use to build professional and strategic digital marketing campaigns for their client(s), or for their own business.

WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?

The program is suitable for anyone who is interested in managing the online presence of a company or an organization. It is also beneficial for someone who wishes to offer independent consulting or contract-based services in digital marketing. Additionally, small business owners, who manage their own online communications, may also benefit from the learning outcomes.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE DIGITAL MARKETING PROGRAM

By end of this program, graduates will have the skills necessary to work in the internet marketing field. Notably, they will have the ability to implement strategies to manage a company’s online presence. The acquired knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress will give them the ability to create attractive and functional websites. Further, by utilizing digital strategies such as SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, and AdWords, graduates will be able to effectively develop, market, and grow the online presence of their own company or that of their employer.

According to an article published by the Pew Research Center, seven out of ten (7/10) Americans are on social media. People use social media to connect with others, discover news, share content and entertain. Companies recognize that the current trend in marketing is no longer in traditional newspaper ads. For the most part, companies and organizations are turning to digital marketing to promote themselves.

A digital marketing professional provides companies with technical support and advice to help them develop and maintain their online presence. Students who graduate with a diploma in digital marketing will be able to use analytics to monitor the behavior and use the information to evaluate consumer expectations. In addition, they will have the skills necessary to coordinate web-marketing and promotional campaigns. Potential employment exists with companies looking to develop and promote their online presence. These companies would like to market their product or service online. Online retailers or small businesses will be the principal vector of employment.
