Pre-University Entrance Requirements

Prerequisites:

• Satisfies one (1) of the general admission requirements for DEC programs;

AND, completed the following:

• Secondary V Language of Instruction
• Secondary V Second Language
• Secondary IV History
• Mathematics Science and Technology 564-506 OR Mathematics Science 565-506
• Chemistry 551-504
• Physics 553-504 OR academic background judged equivalent to the DES.

For students missing the necessary prerequisites, we offer a Springboard to DEC program.

• Cut-off average: 80%*

*We encourage all students to apply and we will assess each application on a case-by-case basis.

• Intent interview*

*Due to this program’s limited capacity, applicants will be invited to a short interview with the program’s coordinator. In this interview, applicants will be asked a series of general questions about their interest in the arts, literature, or communication fields as well as will be asked to introduce themselves and briefly discuss any creative work they have done. An Academic Advisor may recommend an alternative program if the Coordintor feels the ALC program is not a good fit for the student.
