SCIENCE DEC – 200.B1
PRE-UNIVERSITY SCIENCE PROGRAMS IN MONTREAL
Science DEC Program at TAV College
TAV College offers two pre-university science programs giving students the opportunity to choose between either Health Science or Pure and Applied Science. These programs are designed to prepare students for both the rigors and the challenges of university-level studies in their chosen discipline. Regardless of the profile selected, all students will undertake a variety of foundational science courses such as chemistry, biology, physics, algebra, calculus, and computer programming.
A UNIQUE BILINGUAL Option
In partnership with our sister college, College Decarie, we offer the option of completing their general education courses in French, while completing their program-specific courses in English. For example, if you want to study in the Science program with the bilingual option, you will be able to complete some program specific (or science) courses in English. At the same time, your general education courses – language of instruction and literature, humanities, elective courses, and physical education – will be in French. Of course, the English as a second language course will be in English.
*Note that this option is only available for our pre-university DEC programs.

What is TAV College?
TAV College is a bilingual, not-for-profit, private, subsidized college located in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. We offer pre-university and technical programs of study to a proudly multicultural student population. From our beginnings as a smaller institution within Quebec’s private college network, TAV quickly developed into an established institution, which has been recognized and accredited for subsidies from the Quebec Ministry of Higher Education since 2010.
Today, our college boasts a brand new 65,000-square-foot building, which is annexed to our original campus on Decarie Boulevard. This modern building houses biology, chemistry, physics, and 3D printing laboratories, a private café as well as administrative offices and classrooms.
In 2018, due to a steady increase in annual enrolment, we announced our plans to erect a second campus building, which opened its doors, approximately 150 meters from our original campus, at 6005 Decarie boulevard in August 2021. This new building allows us to continue to expand our educational services as well as further develop our enriched learning experience.
Who is ideal for the science program?
The ideal student for one of the Science DEC programs is someone who is naturally curious about the world around them. Science students are often challenged to apply their course learning to real-world applications. With that said, if you’re someone who is up for a challenge, has many questions, and wants to find answers, one of our Science profiles is for you.
What makes TAV unique?
At TAV, attention to the individual is one of our core values. With that said, in addition to highly committed teachers and smaller class sizes, you will also have access to personalized academic advising as well as numerous other support services.
