WHICH DOCUMENTS DO YOU NEED TO SUBMIT WHEN YOU APPLY TO TAV?

In the process of applying to our programs of study, depending on your citizenship status, you will be asked to provide specific documentation. In order to facilitate the registration process, it is recommended that you prepare your required documents in advance.

Where and how to send

When and where do I send my documents?

After you have submitted an application for admission through our online application system, please send the required documents (found below) to the email address pertaining to your citizenship status and program of choice.

International applicants:

How do I send my documents?

We only accept electronically scanned copies of your documents in .pdf file formatting.

Documents to submit when applying to a DEC program

Born in Québec

Required documents to be submitted:

  1. Copy of your birth certificate;
  2. Copy of your RAMQ card (Quebec medicare card; ensure it is not expired);
  3. Copy of your social insurance card (SIN);
  4. Copy of your High School Diploma or high school transcripts*;
  5. Copy of your most recent college transcripts (If applicable).

*If you are applying to a DEC program, your offer of admission is conditional upon the successful completion of high school. If you have not yet completed high school, you must submit a copy of your latest transcripts.

Born in Canada (outside of Québec)

Required documents to be submitted:

  1. Copy of your birth certificate;
  2. Copy of your High School Diploma or high school transcripts*;
  3. Proof of Quebec residency*.
  • *If you are applying to a DEC program, your offer of admission is conditional upon the successful completion of high school. If you have not yet completed high school, you must submit a copy of your latest transcripts.
  • **Quebec residency can be demonstrated through a copy of the parent’s valid RAMQ card, if the applicant is living with their parent(s).
    • If the student does not live with a parent with a RAMQ card, the student will need to submit a copy of their prior (and/or renewed) lease + 2 utility bills for that address.

Important Note:

Students who were born in Canada (outside Québec) who have always been registered full-time (in school), while in the province of Quebec, will be considered non-residents. They will be invoiced the non-resident fee for the duration of their studies (this non-resident fee applies to each semester).

Permanent resident born outside of Quebec

Required documents to be submitted:

  1. Copy of your birth certificate (if the birth certificate was not written in English or French, you must provide both the original and a copy that has been professionally translated to English);
  2. Copy of your RAMQ card (Quebec medicare card; ensure it is not expired);
  3. Copy of your social insurance card (SIN);
  4. Copy of your Permanent Residency Card or Citizenship Card/Certificate (both sides);
  5. Copy of your CSQ* (Certificate of Selection to Quebec);
  6. Copy of your fifth-year high school transcripts*;
  7. Most recent college transcripts (If applicable).

*If you are applying to a DEC program, your offer of admission is conditional upon the successful completion of high school. If you have not yet completed high school, you must submit a copy of your latest transcripts.

*If you do not have a CSQ:

1. If your spouse was born in Quebec, you must provide a copy of your spouse’s birth certificate and your marriage certificate.

OR

2. If your spouse was NOT born in Quebec, you must provide the following:

  • Lease or property tax bill,

AND

  • 2 utility bills (phone, hydro, credit card…), dated within the last 12 months.

If the applicant lives with their parents

They must provide:

  • A copy of one (1) parent’s medicare card

AND

  • A signed letter from the same parent.

*The letter from a parent should clearly state that the applicant is the child’s parent and has been living with them in Quebec since the date they arrived (the parent must clearly indicate the date of arrival in Quebec.)

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

Required documents to be submitted:

  1. Copy of your birth certificate;
  2. Copy of your passport;
  3. Copy of your High School Diploma;
  4. Copy of your language test results (TEF Canada, IELTS, TOFEL, PTE);
  5. Copy of your high school transcripts;
  6. Your CV.

 

Documents to submit when applying to an AEC program

Born in Québec

Required documents to be submitted:

  1. Copy of your birth certificate;
  2. Copy of your RAMQ card (Quebec medicare card; ensure it is not expired);
  3. Copy of your social insurance card (SIN);
  4. Copy of your High School Diploma, high school transcripts, or your CV.
Born in Canada (outside of Québec)

Required documents to be submitted:

  1. Copy of your birth certificate;
  2. Copy of your High School Diploma or high school transcripts*;
  3. Proof of Quebec residency*.
  • *Quebec residency can be demonstrated through a copy of the parent’s valid RAMQ card, if the applicant is living with their parent(s).
    • If the student does not live with a parent with a RAMQ card, the student will need to submit a copy of their prior (and/or renewed) lease + 2 utility bills for that address.
