How was your experience at TAV College?

The level of warmth and care that the staff has towards the students definitely enhanced my experience at TAV. The teachers in the ALC program, especially, go above and beyond to help students succeed.

I joined the TAV Times (the College’s newspaper) in my second semester. I began as a Creative Writer and Communications Coordinator, and then I was asked to become the Editor-in-chief, which gave me the opportunity to enhance so many skills. I gained experience in areas like professional writing, project management, design, leadership, marketing, and communication. It also allowed me to meet and work with students from the other programs and make new and lifelong friends. Joining the journalism club was one of my best decisions as a student.

Why did you choose the ALC program?

After high school, I did a year of CEGEP, but I felt as though I didn’t have a clear direction yet as to where I wanted to go, so I decided to take a break until I figured it out. After working for two years, I decided to pursue art as a career and I enrolled in the ALC program because it offered a variety of digital art classes and I knew this would give me the skillsets that I needed to succeed.

What kind of tools did the program give you in order to succeed?

The program provides a really solid and introductory foundation for anyone who is interested in pursuing digital art and/or media in university and eventually as a career.
