NEWS RELEASE
TAV College is pleased to announce that the Quebec Ministry of Higher Education has authorized us to run two new programs.
The College will soon begin offering the following programs:
- AEC in Computer Networking
- AEC in Fitness Program Leaders
AEC in Computer Networking (LEA.E0)
This program will take two years for students to complete and will give them an Attestation of College Studies (ACS). The program will prepare students to work as computer network technicians (NOC code: 2281 ). These technicians participate in the design of networks and install, manage and secure networks, servers, and computers. Their task is also to ensure the operation of related Internet and intranet services, such as resource sharing, communication, hosting, telephony, etc.
This new program also comes as the Quebec government recently announced various sectors of the Quebec workforce that have promising futures, careers in information technology being one of them. For more information regarding career prospects for computer network technicians, click here .
AEC in Fitness Program Leaders (JYC.0J)
This innovative and comprehensive program will take two years for students to complete and will give them an Attestation of College Studies (ACS). It is designed to train students to become dynamic instructors and managers of fitness programs, certified personal trainers, or small business owners, who will practice their profession in the field of fitness program development and/or the management of fitness programs (NOC code: 5254 ). In addition, students will leave this program with multiple certifications from the YMCA Quebec. This program also gives them the ability to join the SNNQ. The Societe Nouvelle de Naturopathie de Quebec is a recognized association for Quebec naturopaths.
Fitness instructors and personal trainers are becoming increasingly significant actors within the healthcare ecosystem. These exercise professionals lead and train individuals and groups in fitness programs in order to help their clientele achieve their goals and/or physical needs.
Graduates from the program may be employed by many different types of organizations from community centres, sport and fitness clubs, or recreation centres, to resorts, health care facilities, retirement homes, correctional facilities, government departments, and other similar establishments.
Graduates will also have the option of starting their own small businesses by learning from their instructors who are themselves, successful small business owners, as well as through the knowledge and skills developed in the credited “Sales, marketing and customer service” course .
