Job Description:
The Centre de services scolaire de Montréal (CSSDM) is seeking Special Education Technicians to fill full-time and part-time positions or replacements in order to actively contribute to the success of ALL students.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The employee in this position applies, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, specialized education techniques and methods, either as part of an intervention plan for students with disabilities or adjustment or learning difficulties, or within a program intended for students requiring particular support.
More specifically, responsibilities include:
• Participate in the development and drafting of intervention plans and select measures to achieve the identified objectives
• Develop and lead educational, cultural, recreational, and sports activities aimed at developing social, cognitive, psychomotor, communication, or other skills
• Intervene with students in relation to their environment and provide supportive guidance
POSSIBLE WORK LOCATIONS
• Specialized schools (South, East, North, and Central territories)
• Schools with service points
• Regular elementary and secondary schools / with specialized classes
The CSSDM has 13 schools dedicated exclusively to students with disabilities or adjustment or learning difficulties (EHDAA), in addition to regular schools with service points or specialized classes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS – Meet one of the following profiles:
Profile 1:
• Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in one of the following disciplines:
• Special Education Techniques
• Youth Intervention Techniques
Profile 3:
• Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in one of the following disciplines:
o Criminology Intervention Techniques
o Social Work Techniques
• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines:
o Social Work / Social Services
o Psychology
o Psychology-Sociology
o Major in Psychology (60 credits) and Minor (30 credits) in a discipline relevant to the position
AND at least 700 hours of relevant experience acquired within the last 5 years.
Profile 7 – Temporary Measure (does not provide access to permanent positions):

COMPENSATION
Hourly rate ranging from $27.71 to $39.88 per hour depending on education and experience.

These attestations must include: position held, start and end dates, number of hours worked, employer name, address, and signature. Experience attestations will be analyzed by the Staffing Office.

WHO WE ARE
Positive Steps Learning provides adapted intervention services, such as Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), catering to the needs of neurodivergent children and their families. We work in daycares, schools, and home environments.
We are looking for a motivated, patient, and caring individual to work full-time with a Grade 3 student in an English school setting in Côte Saint-Luc.
OUR OFFER
• Contract duration: this position is offered as an independent contractor role until the end of June 2026, and can be extended past the end of the school year
