INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS IN A DEC PROGRAM

Did you know that you have to re-register each semester?

At TAV College, you must re-register at the end of each semester to indicate that you intend on returning to the College the following semester. For example, if you are in the Fall semester, you must re-register for the Winter semester before the registration deadline (indicated below).

**Please note that you can only request modifications or cancel your registration until September 3rd, 2021.

TO RE-REGISTER:

The registration period for the Fall 2021 semester will be open between April 15th and June 15th, 2021.

For the following programs, you must request an online meeting with Valerie Svitanko, the academic advisor for these programs, via email: v.svitanko@tav.ca

  • Science
  • Social Science
  • Springboard
  • Arts, Literature and Communications

For the following programs, you must contact Ramzi Jaber, the academic advisor for these programs, via email: ramzi@tav.ca

  • Special Care Counselling (DEC)

For the following programs, you must contact Mrs. Deutsch, the academic advisor for these programs, via email: collegetav@gmail.com 

  • Early Childhood Education (DEC)

 

Please note that registrations will not be finalized until past due balances are paid. There is a $60 registration fee per semester, which will be billed once your registration is confirmed. Payment may be made by Omnivox or by phone to the front desk with a credit card number.

LATE REGISTRATIONS

Late registrations will be processed between June 15th and August 15th, 2021. An additional 30$ fee will be applied to any late registrations.

NOT RETURNING TO TAV?

If you do not intend to return to TAV for the next semester, you must notify your program’s academic advisor of your decision as soon as possible.

TUITION FEE PAYMENT DEADLINES

Tuition fees must either be paid in full or a payment plan must be agreed upon before students can register for the next semester.

DROP DEADLINES AND PERMANENT INCOMPLETES
DROP DEADLINE FOR COURSES

If you are not satisfied with a course, you may drop it from your schedule.

  • To drop a course, you must do so before the end of the second week of classes. 
  • No requests will be accepted after the 2nd week.
  • To drop a course, you must speak to the academic advisor.

PERMANENT INCOMPLETES

A permanent incomplete is an official status within a student’s record indicating that the student experienced an extraordinary circumstance mid-semester and was unfit to complete the course(s).

  • For permanent incompletes, you must provide appropriate documentation proving you couldn’t complete your studies for a period of three (3) weeks or more for a serious motive, including illness or death of a spouse or death of a family member (see Regulation Promoting Academic Success for details).
  • The College does not give permanent incompletes because you are failing a course or because you were absent for a final exam.

INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS IN AN AEC PROGRAM

Registration

At TAV College, you must re-register at the end of each semester to indicate that you intend on returning to the College the following semester. For example, if you are in the Fall semester, you must re-register for the Winter semester before the registration deadline (indicated below).

Most students will receive their schedule for the next semester by email. In order to complete and finalize your registration, you must print and sign the schedule, scan it and email it to the TAV office: tavoffice@gmail.com. *If you do not have access to a printer and cannot digitally sign the schedule, please contact the office.

CHANGES TO YOUR SCHEDULE

If you need to make a change to the proposed schedule or would like to schedule an appointment with an advisor, visit the academic advising page.

If you do not intend to return to TAV for the next semester, please notify the main office, or your program’s academic advisor, as soon as possible so we can update our files in a timely manner (Does not apply if you’re graduating).
